1. Father of Caleb, one of the 12 spies sent by Moses to search out the land of Canaan (Nm 13:6; 14:6; 26:65; 1 Chr 4:15; 6:56). He is identified variously as a Judahite and a Kenizzite (Jos 14:6).

2. Jether’s son from Asher’s tribe (1 Chr 7:38).
