DESTINY

1. Pagan god (Meni) mentioned in connection with another pagan god (Gad); presumably a deity of good luck or fortune (Is 65:11).

2. Foreordination of the Hebrews as God’s elect people (Ex 19:5-6). In the NT eternal destiny depends upon one’s relationship with Christ (Acts 17:30-31; 1 Jn 5:1-5). See Elect, Election; Foreordination.
