REKEM (Person)

1. Prince or king of Midian killed with his four accomplices in a battle waged by Moses at the Lord’s command (Nm 31:8, Jos 13:21). Israelites living in the vicinity of Rekem’s dominion had been seduced to the worship of Baal-peor.

2. Son of Hebron, a descendant of Caleb, and Shammai’s father (1 Chr 2:43-44).
