LIBNI

1. Gershon’s son, the grandson of Levi, and Shimei’s brother (Ex 6:17; Nm 3:18; 1 Chr 6:17, 20). He was the father of three sons and the founder of the Libnite family (Nm 3:21). Libni is alternately called Ladan in 1 Chronicles 23:7-9 and 26:21.

2. Mahli’s son, the father of Shimei, and a descendant of Levi through Merari’s line (1 Chr 6:29).
