BARAK

Son of Abinoam of Kedesh in Naphtali (Jgs 4:6; 5:1) and an associate of the prophetess Deborah. Barak led an army of Israel that defeated the forces of Jabin, king of the Canaanites (Jgs 4). Barak is one of the heroes of faith listed in the NT (Heb 11:32). See Deborah #2; Judges, Book of.
