AMNON

1. David’s oldest son by his wife Ahinoam, born in Hebron (2 Sm 3:2; 1 Chr 3:1). Amnon deceived and violated Tamar, his beautiful half sister, and was killed in revenge by Tamar’s brother Absalom (2 Sm 13:1-33).

2. First son of Shimon from Judah’s tribe (1 Chr 4:20).
