ADIN
1. Ancestor of a group of people who returned to Judah with Zerubbabel after the Babylonian exile. Comparison of various lists (Ezr 2:15; 8:6; Neh 7:20; 1 Esd 5:14; 8:32) shows that groups of Adin’s descendants returned at different times.
2. Political leader who signed Ezra’s covenant of faithfulness to God with Nehemiah and others after the exile (Neh 10:16).
